Make your First Impression a Lasting Impression!

Let's face it - first impressions are of high importance and making a positive first impression is key in anything you do!  Here are tips to "wow" your judges:

1. Confidence - if you have confidence, you're in!  There is nothing more attractive in the human race!  So get up on that stage with your shoulders back, your smile wide and dance like you've never danced before!

2. Make Up - I have always been an advocate for make up and "pretty points."  Every woman has the ability to look beautiful & every woman needs a little make up!

Now... make up does not mean "War Paint."  You do not need to wear the color of your dress on your eyelids, but you do need to highlight your natural beauty!

   - Foundation: I would recommend the Clinique Even Better for full coverage and even toned skin.

   - Blush & Lipstick: Try a pretty pink blush to compliment your skin - I would head over to a MAC counter and ask a beauty advisor for their advice - it's quick and it's free!

   - Mascara & Eyelashes: Fake eyelashes are fabulous, as long as they're done tastefully!  Remember, we are only trying to highlight your natural beauty.  Head over to Bobbi Brown for simple lashes and Party Mascara to make those eyes pop!  They also have a great natural selection of eyeshadow (white, cream and browns) to highlight the eyes!

*Stay far away from color (unless you add a tiny accent on the lid - not a pinch more!)

3. Dress - No matter where you find your dress, make sure it fits your personality!  You can make a paper bag look fabulous so long as your happy wearing it!

Here is my Popular Pick of the Month: Megan DiBiase of The DeNogla School of Irish dance (pictured in between her loving and supportive parents, John and Mary Beth)

She is wearing a few of my favorite things:
- Gavin Doherty dress
- Estee Lauder Goddess Soft Matte Bronzer
- MAC lipstick: Frost New York Apple

Not only does this dancer look the part, she possesses a true champion's confidence!  Best of luck to Megan at the World Championships this week!

  1. Hey Meagan-

    Thanks for the tips!

One thing, though- have you ever tried mineral makeup? I'm one of those people who can't use regular makeup because it turns my face into something rather resembling pepperoni pizza. I've found mineral makeup actually looks better on me, as well as not aggravating my skin. :)

    Keep up the awesome blogging!
